WOW!  February was great, wasn’t it?  The Krew of Janus treated the town to a fantastic parade for its Mardi Gras Celebration to open the month’s festivities on February 6^th.  Then, with no time in between, the New Orleans Saints treated their fans to a Super Bowl victory on the 7^th.  A week later love filled the air with Valentine’s Day Celebrations.

Tonore’s February Wine Class featured the Red varietals of Bordeaux and was well received by the people who attended.  Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot were the varietals tasted.  Consider buying a bottle of each and making your own blend.

March will bring a new set of events.  March 14^th brings us Daylight Savings Time.  Don’t forget to “spring forward” before you go to bed Saturday night.  St. Patrick’s Day will be celebrated on a Wednesday this year but I’ll bet that you will need to get to Enoch’s early to get a spot for their festivities.

The first day of spring is the 20^th and I believe that is also the end of the KEDM Spring Fund Drive which starts on Saturday March 13^th..  To volunteer to help during the fund drive week call Susan Alain at 318-342-5556.  I’m sure that she will take your pledge early if you want to call her before the pledge drive starts.

Tonore’s will do their part in aiding The Friends of KEDM raise money to help keep the station on the air with our “ANNUAL SPRING WINE TASTING”.  This year we will be having the tasting on the 25^th of March which is perfect timing for choosing wines for your Passover Celebration (Passover starts at sunset on March 29^th) or your Easter Celebration (April 4^th).  Look for details on the wine tasting below.

The Abita Strawberry has arrived don’t wait too long—this is a limited release beer and will be gone soon.
